So you’re thinking about making a website for your business? If so, you’ve likely researched the cost of a website designer and realized, they can be pretty pricey. Well don’t worry, I have some alternatives!
A website is really important for your business, it’s where you drive traffic to and where potential customers and clients go to look at your work or product. Getting a website up and running that’s full of personality and shows off your services and products in a great way, can really level up your business!
But, it doesn’t mean you have to break the bank to do so. To see how to create a custom website while on a budget, keep reading!
Make one on your own! Most sites like Squarespace and Show It are easy to drag and drop to create your own site. You can find a website builder that you like and give it a try creating a website on your own. Use your branding to help you design the website or find a color palette you love and go with that! Check out Pinterest for inspiration, make a board with your favorites, and that will give you an idea and a starting point for your new website. Creating a fully custom website takes a lot of time, patience, and knowledge. So make sure you are ready to go before taking the plunge!
If you’re not feeling up to designing a custom website from scratch but you still want to do a lot of it yourself, templates are the way to go. This option is going to cost you some money but it’s still way cheaper than hiring a website designer. Plus, it’ll save you a ton of time working off of a preexisting template! My favorite place to buy templates is Etsy. I even made a few of my own templates and offer them on Etsy. If you are wanting a more neutral, moody, and creative template check out Desert Skies! If you like more of a light and airy type of look, Ivy Rose is the one for you!
Show It and Squarespace come with templates that are free to use with your subscription. They are already set up and you just have to input all your copy and photos. These ones are pretty standard and don’t allow for much creativity, but if you’re on a budget crunch they are a great alternative. They are perfect if you are wanting a more simple and minimalistic website.

“Kaylee did an AMAZING job designing my website!! I like how her design keeps the focus on my work and captures the emotion perfectly. I had no idea where to start but she picked my brain and created something better than I could have imagined! If I could give her more than 5 starts I would! I highly recommend her services and will definitely be coming back in the future.”
